Chris Matthews Should Be Ashamed of Himself

Mike Long has for many years been one of the few pro-life voices among Catholics in New York State.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Inside Catholic) - Once again Chris Matthews demonstrates his lack of class and his fear of engaging in honest debate. His interview with New York Conservative Party chairman Mike Long was another example of why Hardball is found so far down the ratings list of all the cable news shows.

Deacon Keith A. Fournier described the interview this way:

"From the beginning of this alleged interview to its end, Matthews kept a condescending grin on his face. My dear old father from Dorchester, Mass. would have called that grin something much more profane - I am tempted to do so as well but will refrain. He spent most of his time during this sideshow of an interview laughing with derision at his guest and speaking over him".

Mike Long has for many years been one of the few pro-life voices among Catholics in New York State. The Conservative Party endorsement of Doug Hoffman in New York's 23 District Congressional Race over the GOP's Dede Scozzafava has led to a revolt of social conservatives with national implications for the Republican Party.

Chris Matthews should be ashamed of himself, but he won't be. The thrill that went up his leg listening to Obama speak was the visceral response of Matthews recognizing a kindred spirit.
