Obama gets votes to protect Iran nuclear deal

The nuclear deal between the United States, China, Britain, France, Russia, Germany and Iran has been under intense scrutiny from Republicans and some Democrats, however Democratic Senator Barbara Mikulski has agreed to pledge support. Mikulski's support means opponents cannot reach the necessary two-thirds super majority vote to override Obama's veto if anyone attempts to break the nuclear pact.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - The deal is to trade the promise from Iran to destroy centrifuges, cut enriched-uranium stockpiles and accept tight surveillance in exchange for a series of stages to lift economic sanctions in Iran.
The pact has been a hot topic due to its upcoming vote on a resolution to block the deal's deployment. Critics have claimed the pact does not guarantee Iran wont get a nuclear weapon. The pact seems only to delay the process.
Those who remain on the fence have not withheld their worries, saying Iran could use some of the money its economy earns after the sanctions are lifted to fund groups that pose direct threats to Israel.
Senator Lindsey O. Graham (R-S.C.) stated, "The Iranians have now secured enough votes in the Senate to ensure they have a pathway to a bomb, the missile to deliver it, and the money to pay for it. The only reason the Ayatollah and his henchmen aren't dancing in the streets of Tehran is they don't believe in dancing."
Obama argues the deal is as good as it gets and there is no other war-avoiding alternative. His argument has swayed Democrats, however no Republicans have openly supported the deal.
Polls show a majority of Americans oppose the deal that mirrors Congress, in that Democrats support the deal and Republicans oppose it.
So far there are ten Democrats who are undeclared. If 41 senators support the agreement, they can filibuster the resolution of disapproval.
