Teens confess sins to Pope Francis at St. Peter's Square

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - According to Vatican Radio, the event, called "Growing merciful as the Father," has attracted 70 thousand teenagers from around the world.
The first stage of the event is a pilgrimage to the Holy Door, then confessions to be heard by priests and Pope Francis in the colonnade of St. Peter's Basilica.
Daily Mail reported the confession event was a calm moment when the teenagers seemed at east and welcomed Pope Francis' loving handshake.
One teen, Emily, described the event as "cool" and added, "It's exciting as a youth to be thought of and focused on."
Her parents, Matt and Susan, believe the event serves as a great opportunity for their children to "explore their faith."
Susan further described the event to be extremely important as today's youth are the "future of our Church."
The Teen Jubilee will continue until April 25 and is set to include a trip to Rome's Olympic Stadium, where they will watch a video message from the pontiff.
Sunday morning will have the teens back at St. Peter's Square for a Mass delivered by Pope Francis.
