God's Not Dead sequel expected to become biggest Christian film of 2016

During a recent Church Boys podcast, David A.R. White shared some details about the upcoming sequel to the 2014 Christian movie hit "God's Not Dead." The actor-producer and co-founder of the production company, Pure Flix Entertainment explained that the follow-up movie was not easy to create, especially after the success of the first film. Although he did mention there are some new cast members, White did not say if the original cast will be appearing in the sequel.

MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - "Following up 'God's Not Dead' wasn't that easy to do. We wanted to serve our audience with what they enjoyed from the first movie, but at the same token take it a step further and make it something different," said White during his interview on the show.
God's Not Dead focused on a conflict between an atheist Professor and his devout Christian student, Josh Wheaton, after he refused to claim that God is dead. The movie became one of the most popular and acclaimed Christian movies last year, starring Kevin Sorbo as the professor who vowed to fail and prevent the student from pursuing his law school dream.
White noted the sequel will tell the story of a female Christian who teaches in a high school, later finding herself inside a courtroom where she has to defend herself after a controversy.
"One of her students asks a question about Gandhi and then Martin Luther King and then Jesus... and so she... ends up answering this question as authentically as possible without bringing her beliefs into it, but the questions keep coming," explained White, adding that when the parents got involved in the issue of her teaching and beliefs, things got out of hand which led to the legal battle.
