Hollywood star, Johnny Depp hands out hearing aids to those in need in South America

Hollywood couple Johnny Depp and Amber Heard took the time to reach out to Rio de Janeiro locals. The two participated in a charity event, along with Alice Cooper, where they gave hearing aids to those in need. Amber cried as she saw the way the gifts impacted the people.

span style="line-height: 1.22;">HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA (Catholic Online) - During a trip to South America for his tour with supergroup "The Hollywood Vampires," Depp participated in the charity initiative for the Starkey Hearing Foundation.
The Starkey Hearing Foundation invited the blockbuster actor to guest at their charity initiative that planned to provide over 200 children and adults with hearing aids.According to The Daily Mail, the organization is part of a partnership with the Rock in Rio festival, which Depp's band headlined. The foundation has reportedly given 1.8 million hearing devices to those in need in over one-hundred countries.
Last Thursday, Depp and his wife, actress Amber Heard, attended the charity event where Heard met Daniele Lopes, a 32-year-old woman who got emotional after receiving her hearing aid from the foundation. Amber was overcome by emotion at Lopes' reaction and shared her tears of joy.
Bill Austin, founder of the Starkey Hearing Foundation, said, "Hearing connects us to life, our families and to the world around us ... It's a precious gift, and we are excited to work with the Hollywood Vampires to introduce so many to the world of sound and help them hear music for the first time."
Those who received the devices were thankful for the chance to hear the world -including the music at the festival. Some recipients were brought to the festival to hear music for the first time.
The Hollywood Vampires, consisting of of Depp, Alice Cooper, Duff McKagan and Bruce Witkin, later rocked the stage.
